It just can't.<br />Ok, here we go. The SEC announced today its appointment of 29 year old Goldman Sachs employee, Adam Storch to a new position in the Securities and Exchange Commission. His new job, as the <a href="http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-sec-coo16-2009oct16,0,6370675.story">LA Times</a> puts it, "the first chief operating officer in the agency's enforcement division".<br /><br />So Goldman Sachs, who just got a crapload of money from the government (aka the taxpayer) and has had its own people at the helm in high places in government, like <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henry_Paulson">Henry Paulson</a>, who helped to create the worst economic scenario Americans have seen since the Great Depression, gets the nod from the SEC to to let them hire one of their 29 year old minions to help "make the SEC's Enforcement Division more efficient" ?<br /><br />Excuse me while I laugh and cry at the same time.<br /><br />Lets take a look at how much money has been given (stolen) to Goldman Sachs from all of us. Here's a piece from Shelly Roche's post on her site <a href="http://www.bytestyle.tv/content/goldman-sachs-black-magic-how-they-did-it">ByteStyle.tv</a> on how much money Goldman Sachs got from our federal government's bailouts and how they're magically profiting these days:<br /><br /><span style="font-style: italic;font-size:85%;" >How did Goldman, Sachs & Co. -- saved a year ago by the US taxpayer -- magically make $3 billion in 3 months a year later?</span><span style="font-size:85%;"><br /></span><span style="font-style: italic;font-size:85%;" >This as the US dollar collapses, unemployment soars and foreclosures hit a record?</span><span style="font-size:85%;"><br /><br /></span><span style="font-style: italic;font-size:85%;" >Here is the Goldman, Sachs & Co. revenue break down for the past 3 months:</span><span style="font-size:85%;"><br /><br /></span><span style="font-style: italic;font-size:85%;" >Financial Advisory-M/A: 325 million.</span><span style="font-size:85%;"><br /></span><span style="font-style: italic;font-size:85%;" >Equity Underwriting: 363 million.</span><span style="font-size:85%;"><br /></span><span style="font-style: italic;font-size:85%;" >Debt Underwriting: 211 million.</span><span style="font-size:85%;"><br /></span><span style="font-style: italic;font-size:85%;" >Trading-Principal Investments: 10 billion.</span><span style="font-size:85%;"><br /><br /></span><span style="font-style: italic;font-size:85%;" >Notice that 10 billion is much bigger than two or three hundred million made from the traditional Wall Street businesses.</span><span style="font-size:85%;"><br /><br /></span><span style="font-style: italic;font-size:85%;" >That $10 billion is evidence of their magic trick. The Dow opened sluggishly on Thursday, but news of Heene's disappearance had day-traders queuing up to get into the market while less sophisticated investors were distracted from profit-taking.<br /><br />A market insider spoke under the condition of anonymity: "Using triangulation and some sophisticated calculations we were able to gauge "Balloon Boy's" precise altitude, which then translated tic for tic our market conditions. I wish I could thank him with a wagon full of blow or chocolate or hookers. I'm so glad that he didn't crash before the bell."<br /><br />Shilo Goldschlong of Goldschlong & Goldschlong Investment Group, Inc. explains: "We had been looking for some sort of sign of the Dow's next move after breaking 10K on Wednesday, and we found it. 'Balloon Boy' was just the forecasting tool we were looking for." Goldschlong joked, "If he weren't only 6-years old, I'd get him a penicillin shot and his choice of hookers... hell, I'd give him the old reach-around myself." <br /><br />With "Balloon Boy" safe on the ground, the market was melancholic today, peaking above 10,000 shortly only to close at 9995 for the week.moneymonkhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01690658220186841722noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2221238123535116575.post-40767829234479415492009-10-16T01:17:00.005-05:002009-10-16T01:39:12.350-05:00Farmers and Hemp Industry Business Leaders Plant Hemp at DEA HeadquartersIts time to end the ridiculous policy against growing industrial hemp. <br /><br />Right? Of course.<br /><br />So check <a href="http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/10/13/farmers-arrested-planting_n_318808.html">this</a> out, this is great.<br /><br />A group of farmers and hemp related industry business leaders, including Isaac Nichelson, owner of <a href="http://www.livityouternational.com">Livity Outernational</a>, a hemp based clothing company, and David Bronner, President of <a href="http://www.drbronner.com/">Dr. Bronner's Magic Soaps</a>, protested on the front lawn of the DEA building in Washington D.C. With ceremonial shovels in hand, the group began digging and planting hemp seeds right there on the DEA's lawn. What a beautiful act of defiance against another auspice of the failed war on drugs. Kudos to these guys. Its time to legalize industrial hemp. There were some good moments of truth with testimonies from people like Vincent Bugliosi, author of "The Prosecution of George W. Bush For Murder". Here's a clip of Bugliosi's opening statement. Note how, who I assume is the ranking Republican member on the committee, get all flustered with the applause and people taking too much time. It's almost sad how desperate he looks trying to keep people from hearing the truth.<br /><br />This video is from <a href="http://rawstory.com/rawreplay/?p=1559">Raw Story</a> via<em>CNN.com</em>, broadcast July 25, 2008.</p><br /><br /><p><embed src="http://www.rawprint.com/fvp/flvplayer.swf" sap="flash" bgcolor="#FFFFFF" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" flashvars="file=http://216.87.173.33/media/2008/0807/cnn_live_bugliosi_executive_power_080725a.flv&image=http://216.87.173.33/media/2008/0807/cnn_live_bugliosi_executive_power_080725a.jpg&logo=http://www.rawprint.com/fvp/rsvidlogo04.png&link=http://www.rawstory.com&autostart=false&lightcolor=0x557722&backcolor=0x000000&frontcolor=0xCCCCCC&showicons=false" width="400" height="290"><br /></embed>The Armhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07895110269140727855noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2221238123535116575.post-51574494002641765922008-07-10T20:52:00.000-05:002008-07-10T20:53:45.633-05:00Ron Paul on Obama<object width="400" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/ez5robAWmu4&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/ez5robAWmu4&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="400" height="344"></embed></object>The Armhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07895110269140727855noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2221238123535116575.post-61683264421067381232008-07-09T13:20:00.000-05:002008-07-09T13:21:37.555-05:00I'm Running For President.....And My Campaign is Picking Up Speed!<OBJECT classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0" WIDTH="384" HEIGHT="304"><PARAM NAME=movie VALUE="http://www.paltalk.com/marketing/media/vanksen/main.swf"><PARAM NAME=quality VALUE=high><PARAM NAME=flashvars VALUE="firstname=The &lastname=Arm&urlfin=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.news3online.com%2Fspread.php"><PARAM NAME="BGCOLOR" VALUE="#000000" /><PARAM NAME="allowScriptAccess" VALUE="always" /><EMBED src="http://www.paltalk.com/marketing/media/vanksen/main.swf" quality=high WIDTH="384" HEIGHT="304" ALIGN="" TYPE="application/x-shockwave-flash" FLASHVARS="firstname=The &lastname=Arm&urlfin=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.news3online.com%2Fspread.php" PLUGINSPAGE="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" BGCOLOR="#000000" ALLOWSCRIPTACCESS="ALWAYS"></EMBED></OBJECT>The Armhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07895110269140727855noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2221238123535116575.post-80131848589286854402008-06-27T10:07:00.003-05:002008-06-27T10:16:04.903-05:00The Torture Memo Twins Get Their Congressional HearingsJohn Yoo and David Addington the authors of the infamous torture memos were "grilled" by Congress yesterday and I think its time to cut to the chase and put these guys in jail right now. The irony is truly breathtaking these days. I love how Sharpton can get away with comments like that to someone on a supposed "news" channel. How is that fucking reporting the "news"? Paul gathered with supporters in Texas tonight to "make an announcement" which apparently meant, finalizing the official campaign. Paul definitely made his mark on American politics and showed us that maybe government power isn't all its cracked up to be, on all levels. His <a href="http://www.ronpaul2008.com/">campaign website</a> offers a bit of thanks to his supporters and also lights the fire for future endeavors to help continue the "Revolution" against government tyranny. <br /><br />Lets look back at some of the most memorable and important moments in the 2008 Ron Paul primary campaign.<br /><br />Ron Paul's answer to a question about his ability to win the election, which was censored from re-broadcasts of the debate.<br /><object width="375" height="300"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/9nl_KLGXlpw&hl=en"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/9nl_KLGXlpw&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="375" height="300"></embed></object><br /><br />Ron Slams Rudy Guiliani's lack of knowledge of terrorism in the Fox South Carolina Debates<br /><object width="375" height="300"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/AD7dnFDdwu0&hl=en"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/AD7dnFDdwu0&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="375" height="300"></embed></object><br /><br />Ron Paul explains why the War on Drugs is racist and bad for minority groups in America.<br /><object width="375" height="300"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/o8S8N2OG7sU&hl=en"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/o8S8N2OG7sU&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="375" height="300"></embed></object><br /><br />Ron Paul Makes McCain look like an idiot on economics at the MSNBC Florida debates.<br /><object width="375" height="300"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/CDuirJaVzS8&hl=en"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/CDuirJaVzS8&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="375" height="300"></embed></object><br /><br />A Great CGI ad for Ron Paul.<br /><object width="375" height="300"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/-3MLTvYBQy0&hl=en"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/-3MLTvYBQy0&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="375" height="300"></embed></object>The Armhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07895110269140727855noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2221238123535116575.post-26864974832904363332008-06-10T16:04:00.004-05:002008-06-10T16:15:43.339-05:00Ron Paul Plans His Own Convention; McCain Confuses Ron Paul with Ron JeremyRon Paul isn't waiting for an invitation to speak at the Republican National Convention. Hell, he could barely get on Fox News Debates. I like Paul's moxie: <a href="http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/pittsburghtrib/news/breaking/s_571996.html">"Fuck 'em" He says, "I'll have my own convention in Minneapolis."</a><br /><br />But with McMaverick as the Republican candidate for President, anything's possible. Maybe McCain will introduce Ron Paul as his VP...not because he <em>is</em> his running mate, but just because McCain forgot who else he chose, or got confused or something.
